Dismissing God’s Warning; Do Not Be Unequally Yoked With An Unbeliever. 2Cor.6:14:
As Christians, so many of us think it’s alright to enter into relationships with unbelievers believing they’ll change with time but unfortunately, they don’t. The truth is that anyone that didn’t change his/her bad life-style for good in a relationship hardly changes it during marriage.
You might think that every church-goer is a genuine believer but it doesn’t follow because some of them name the name of Christ but do not depart from iniquity. Some even attend churches just to marry a godly brother/sister and later in life, they might contribute to the backsliding of that person. This is reality.
As a single waiting on God, never make the mistake of going into a relationship with someone who’s not mature in Christ because first of all, he/she might unconsciously make you backslide in your faith and Christian race and secondly, anyone not grounded in Christ can never love you enough no matter how they may swear to loving you forever.
After few years of married life, his/her love for you begins to fade and if proper care is not taken, they might find themselves cheating on their partners. This happens because we need Christ to daily fill our love baskets and this can only be done for those who are securely in Christ.
Even if you think you’re getting too old, never rush into marriage with an unbeliever because you might still rush out or remain there enduring instead of enjoying your marriage. Just believe and trust in God!! He never counts or works with time. It’s always 100% solid-proof to go into a relationship and marry a true believer in Christ.
