Father, when I stand at the judgment seat of Christ and He shows me His plan for me The plan of my life as it might have been if He'd had his way -- and I see How I blocked Him here and I refused Him there and I would not yield my will – Will there be grief in my Savior's eyes, grief though He loves me still?
He would have me rich and I stand there poor, Stripped of all but His grace while memory runs like a hunted thing down the paths I cannot retrace.
Then my desolate heart will nearly break with the tears that I cannot shed; I will cover my face with my empty hands; I will bow my uncrowned head.
Lord of the years that are left to me, I give them into your hands; Take me and break me; mold me to the pattern that you have planned.
These are they that advertise the pilgrim journey as if it all passes through the plain ground. Their gospel excludes all forms of suffering. ‘Why suffer when Christ has done that on our behalf?’ they ask. ‘Our path in life has been smoothened by Him, hence, no mountain to climb and no valley to descend.’
These are lies from liars, who but made the lie sound like the truth!!! Oh my heart, take heed lest you be deceived. Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ and be strong in the grace that is in Him. You may suffer as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
There is the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory, for which cause I must endure all things for the sake of the elects, that through me they may obtain theirs.
