Having Idols In Your Heart (Ezekiel 14:4):
"Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols" (kjv)
According to Ezk. 14:4, when you put an idol in your heart and expect God to still answer your prayers for a godly relationship/partner , He will surely answer you according to the idol in your heart and believe me dear, it will not be to your good. You may ask what an idol means – it means forming the type of person you want already in your heart before asking God. For ladies, it could be a tall, handsome, rich, classy guy. For the guys, it could be a drop-dead gorgeous, shapely, brilliant, classy babe.
If this idol is already on your mind, then you’re not really asking God to give you what He wants for you – His perfect will – which is for your own good BUT you're asking Him to give you what you want for yourself – His permissive will – which is not for your own good.
Your daily prayer should be never to be in God’s permissive will but His perfect will for you.
