HOW TO HANDLE SEXUAL FEELINGS(1) By Samson Ajilore..

WHAT ARE SEXUAL FEELINGS?

Feelings are human emotions or passions. There are different kinds of feelings, some are positive while others are negative. People often wonder why Christians should have sexual feelings but it’s not abnormal. Sexual feelings are awakened during the early teenage-hood and this is because of the hormonal and physical changes of puberty designed by God. These changes involve both the
body and the mind because as certain body organs begin to develop, sexual feelings begin to surface. It takes time for many people to understand who they are and who they're becoming. Part of that understanding includes a person's sexual feelings and attractions for the opposite sex. God created us with sexual feelings. He did not only create us as spiritual beings but also as sexual beings.

We are spirit beings who have souls that are made up of:
(a) The will-power to chose or decide
(b) The thoughts- faculty of reasoning
(c) And the emotions- feelings of all sorts including sexual feelings

 And we live in a physical body that has sexual organs.

HUMAN BEINGS ARE SEXUAL BEINGS
God didn’t create us as sexual beings without providing a way for us to be sexually satisfied and one of the main reasons for marriage is sexual satisfaction, not just reproduction. Adam and Eve, the parents of the humankind were the first to have sex (Gen.4:1). It has been observed that average couples in their matrimony have sex for an average of 3 times a week, which amounts to twelve times a month and 144 times in a year.

This obviously isn’t just for the purpose of making children because they can’t make 144 children in a year. Now, the strongest sexual appetite probably comes between early teenage-hood and early thirties, this means that if a sexual appetite curve were to be drawn in a shape that looks like a letter V turned upside-down,        ‘˄’ I believe that the curve will start ascending from the early teenage and then descending from thirty five or thereabout. So the strongest sexual appetite will be between early teenage-hood to mid thirties. God has provided marriage as the place to satisfy sexual feelings although that’s not the only reason for marriage:

 “Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control… (1Cor.7:1-6 CEV).

  God understands the suffering of sexual feelings without satisfaction and He told us to marry so it can be solved. “But if they can't manage their desires and emotions, they should by all means go ahead and get married. The difficulties of marriage are preferable by far to a sexually tortured life as a single” (1Cor.7:9 MSG).

THERE ARE THREE KINDS OF EUNUCHS

Now We Know That People May Not Get Married In Their Early Teens Because They Have To Get Education And Maturity Among Other Things.
As Christians, Sexual Feelings Do Not Leave Us Out And Youths Who Are Not Married Want To Know How To Handle Their Squashing Sexual Feelings. First Of All, The Bible God Knows That We Are Bound To Have Sexual Feelings And Temptations In Our Unmarried State. Jesus Talks Of Three Kinds Of Eunuchs (Those Who Never Get Married), The First Are People Who Are Born Not To Be Married. The Second Are Those Who Are Made Eunuchs;

These Include Those Men Who Are Castrated (Have Their Testicles Removed) And Who Were Put In Charge Of King’s Wives In Ancient Times. The Third Kind Of Eunuchs Are Those Who Became Eunuchs (Unmarried) For The Purpose Of God’s Kingdom, Such As Catholic Reverend Fathers And Sisters, Unmarried Missionaries And Other Celibates. However, Only Those Who Have The Grace Can Do This Because It’s Not Given To All And This Is Why Some Who Goes Into Celibacy By Imitation (Without The Special Grace To Do So) End Up In All Kinds Of Sexual Misconducts And Secret Sins ( See Math. 19:10-12).
