You Can’t Love Everything About Your Partner: 1 John 4: 7-21
Most people enter into relationships or get married
for the wrong reasons and as such find it hard to deal with the reality of ‘LOVE’
because the rosy picture painted of love during courtship and the wooing stage
is a lot different from the main concept of love.
So they eventually grapple with truly and really
loving the strengths and weaknesses of their partner. Some give up by
believing
that they just can’t cope with the reality while others endure the relationship
rather than enjoying it. God, the author of love never made love to be a
herculean task.
Do you think you can’t really love your partner? Check
with God. ‘We love because He first loved us’ (1 John 4:19). If you’re loved by
God, you’ve got love to give, because ‘…love comes from God…’ (1 John 4:7). You
don’t have to initiate it; just give what has been given to you.
There’s no need for pretense or endurance in your
relationship. Surrender your life and relationship to the author of love (God)
and He’ll transform that relationship. Only in Him can our love for our partners
continue growing and never stagnate, reduce or disappear entirely.
Remain richly blessed..
