Is It Possible To Date Your Ex-Girl Now That You're In Christ?

Hi Beloved, my question is this; is it okay to be in a relationship with a lady that you've dated when in the world, now that you’re in Christ?

Hi Joseph, let me start by thanking you for choosing to get your answers on love and relationship issues from the right and Godly source(this blog) and your encouragements both here and on our page on facebook. Your inputs are greatly appreciated. I will answer your question based on two premises:

Firstly, if the lady in question has left the world too and is presently a new creature in Christ Jesus, then there’s nothing wrong in being in a relationship with her. I say this because

once we come to Christ and accept Him as our Lord and Saviour, old things – our past lives – have passed away and all things have become new. Both of you are now brand new in Christ Jesus.

Secondly, if the lady did not give her life as you did and therefore still in the world, then I’ll advise you not to go into a relationship with her. I say this because she can pull you back into the world and I wouldn’t want that for you. You can be friends with her but it must not exceed that boundary because there’s no relationship between light and darkness.

Finally, whatever decision you may wish to make on this issue must be influenced by the leadings of the Holy Spirit because you’re bound to make mistakes if you walk according to your flesh and personal wisdom.
